Number 47, Ruby, was nowhere to be found around the evening milking time, and a one-man-search-party was sent after her.Towards the end of the milking, she was found hiding in a shady grove of trees in the back of a pasture. Ruby was returned to the rest of her herd and the day finished as close to normal as we can achieve on the funny-farm. Back at the Home Farm on Grove Street, the spring calves are ready to wean. Number 285, Melissa, abandoned ship early this morning as we were just opening the store. Half an hour or so later, a neighbor spotted the escapee and helped us return her to her rightful pasture.
